Today’s quotation is in relation to the Inner Development Goal of
Communication skills
The IDG website has this to say about it:
“Ability to really listen to others, to foster genuine dialogue, to advocate own views skillfully, to manage conflicts constructively and to adapt communication to diverse groups.”
My response is:
"If we attend with imagination and devotion to our conversations, we will find what we need; and someone among us will act—it does not matter whom—and we will survive." - Barry Lopez
And you? What are your thoughts?
By the way, when I went searching for images to use for this post I stumbled across this wonderful piece in The Guardian featuring the works of Lubaina Himid. I couldn’t use them because they’re not in the public domain, but if I could I would have used The Operating Table - a perfect illustration for this quotation. So check it out.
On 31 October I am running a free online creative conversation about the IDGs. More information and bookings here.
