The prompt down below has been inspired by something I found in the Tweets of writer and historian of fashion and art, Anne Louise Avery. If you’re on Twitter then do check Anne’s Tweets out, not just because they’re delightful but also because they’re a study as to how you can use a format like Twitter to tell a story or evocatively describe an artifact. As a writer, I enjoy observing how much meaning Anne can squeeze into 280 characters.

Creative Prompt
One day Anne tweeted out this list of ‘Perfumes for the Handkerchief’ and I loved the list of names and the smells and situations they evoke: ‘Belgravia Bouquet’, ‘Guards Bouquet’, ‘Jockey Club’, ‘New-Mown Hay’, ‘Spring Flowers’, or ‘Souvenir d’un Ami’.
