Today’s quotation is in relation to the Inner Development Goal of
Humility.
The IDG website has this to say about it:
“Being able to act in accordance with the needs of the situation without concern for one's own importance.”
My response is:
"... a fact that freezes the mind that dares to contemplate it: in the beginning William Shakespeare was a baby, and knew absolutely nothing. He couldn't even speak." - from Short Lecture on Shakespeare by Mary Ruefle, read here by Paul Holdengraber.
And you? What are your thoughts?
On 31 October I am running a free online creative conversation about the IDGs. More information and bookings here.
I find it a horrifying fact that children are not born racist, meaning parents choose to teach them to be. I imagine how many more wonderful women we could look up to now had the world not told them to shut up and serve men.
Humility is when my spirit feels at peace.
