Welcome to your December newsletter.
Coming up: Your bonus New Year’s creative prompts, arriving in your inboxes 2-8 December. I have tried to choose stuff that gels with the holiday spirit.
But, for today’s creative prompt, and speaking of spirits…
Today’s creative prompt…
… is inspired by a question I used in my recent event which was based on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
In this prompt I am asking you to work with an analogy:
If the last year were a ghost, what would it look like? How would it haunt you?
Bearing in mind that the haunting needn’t be a malevolent one – were you visited by Caspar the friendly ghost or something out of a horror movie?
Resource of the month:
“I am alive then. That may come in useful.” – Samuel Beckett
I came across this quote while listening my way through Paul Holdengraber’s Quotomania collection.
There are now 300 quotes and short poems from an array of artists and thinkers, ranging from the witty to the deadly serious, and addressing art, philosophy, love, and life, and all recorded in the dulcet tones of “Curator of Public Curiosity” Paul Holdengraber.
So, I’m recommending this as my resource of the month. The collection is profound but, as each recording is only a minute or so, easy to listen to. Perfect for the holidays.
Just a reminder:
11 Jan: Storytelling for Collaboration: A free online workshop that uses the power of storytelling to help participants explore the collaboration mindset and how it might be applied to their projects. Use your creativity to make connections and find common ground with collaborators. Facilitated by me and presented by the Centre for Unusual Collaborations.
